Sedentism

I just finished writing an article critique on two pieces both concerning the advent of sedentism and agricultural cultivation. Fascinating stuff really, at first I though I’d barely make the word limit but I ended up being 500 words over, and concidering that it’s roughly two in the morning that’s not too bad.
I’ve been very busy recently. I’ve taken to doing a lot of work in the library and I’ve been really enjoying it. The reading for my courses is becoming more and more interesting. I realize I would appreciate my Akkadian and Summerian courses better if I knew cuneiform better so I’m making a conscious effort on that too.
The house is doing well I guess. I find I end up doing a lot of work around the house and I wish other people would help out more. Right now I really can’t think of way to broach this subject nor find the time to discuss it. Once I have a bit more time I’ll do some thinking about it.
I’m really at kind of a loss romantically, I have my hopes but they don’t seem to be turning out the way they should. Chris mentioned today a piece of graffitti in Oxford “Love is like a diamond, you may lose it but it never fades.” Perhaps I need to be more forward, perhaps I need to move on.
Ramadan is almost over… just about 11 days left. I find it tires me out a lot in the afternoon. I’m looking forward to staying awake more of the day and of course being able to eat whenever I feel like it. I think over all it’s had the biggest impact on my mood.
There is a book shop near SOAS that has had a help wanted sign up for a while now. I think I’ll apply, I have no previous sales expierence, but if the signs been up this long they’re either desperate or picky, either way I have a chance (well no but I’ll try). It’s right on the walk between the bus and SOAS so it would be very convient and it’s a nice place anyway, can’t say that I’ve ever been inside though.
Oh yeah I’d encourage people who feel like getting a postcard to request one… since I’m back in England I have my large collection of postcards and stamps and am ready to send them all over the world… If you don’t want one request one for a friend with a funny message. I sent one off a couple weeks ago and the recipient was very grateful. If you’re reading this on Livejournal you have to click the “view this post in my blog” or something to see the postcard link.
EDIT: the two turkish coffees I made myself are keeping me up far past when I wanted to fall asleep.
