I work so hard.
I’m driving to Maine to see Nia on Sunday and coming back on Monday. Lucy is coming along for the ride to see Nia as well, but it’s a secret. The trip will be a blast in the best way possible.
I’m done thinking Liz ever wanted to spend more time with me, and that’s just fine. I was looking for some conclusion and I think I’ve found it. I want to stress that this is not a sad event, rather it’s just a moving on. Before RISE is over I’ll wish her the best and that’ll be it.

I watched Princess Mononoke last night. It was great. Not only was the animation really cool, but it had a great message, and not just enviromentaly sound ethics either. I particularly took to the fact the main character never once took sides, and was able to be the mediator for the whole movie. It proves that you don’t have to side with fighting groups and you can still stay in the middle. I want to watch it again really soon.
I won fifteen dollars at poker on tuesday. I realize I don’t really care how much I win, I just want to break even, so once enough people are out that we’ll all get our money back I just play for fun.
It’s ridiculously hot.
I took a nap today and I serisouly couldn’t wake up, it was scary. I’d get up to walk around and do something, and I was just completely out of it and in a daze. Eventually I’d end up just back on the couch asleep. I don’t know how long it took to finally get out of that stupor but it was long.

Friday night I cooked dinner for Lanny and then he and I went to see Mike’s performance of “As you like it”, it was pretty good. Mike played Orlando very well.
Satuday morning I got up nice and early and headed for the bus station to catch the seven o’clock bus to New York to see Lucy. Lucy’s a friend from Oxford and she was in New York for a week before going out to Detroit to visit another friend and then, (as I learned) coming back this way to visit Martha’s Vineyard with said friend. She and I had a blast rocking the free guest passes to MoMa. Then we had a pizza picnic in central park and then we took the bus back to Providence. Turns out when we got into our fair city, there was a water fire going on. So we got the car from the bus station and parked over by the state house, and I got to show her one of the best parts of providence.
Then we went home to sleep. This morning we got up early again and headed south on 114 down to Newport. We didn’t have much time (she had to catch a bus at one) so we grabbed some clam cakes at Flo’s and ate them on the beach. The staff at Flo’s were amused by her accent. We drove back through Jamestown and made her one o’clock bus.

Then after she had left to go back to the big apple, I came home and Dylan invited me over to go Kayaking! So I went over we grabbed some kayaking food at Newport creamery and strapped the kayaks to my van. We spent a while driving around hundred acre cove till we found a boat down at last. We put in and futzed around for a while in the water before kayaking back the dock and taking them out.
Then I went back to his dropped the kayaks off, and came home and took a nap. Here’s a link to a photoset of our kayaking adventure.

Last night I went to see Urdog, Afrirampo, and Lightning Bolt (in that order) with Allen and Florence. Before hand I went over to Florence’s house for some lovely beans and rice and catching up. The concert was really cool. I forgot ear plugs twice and half way through lightning bolt’s set went outside to get some forgotten ones. Urdog were good, not their best preformance, but I bought their cd (partly because they wouldn’t restamp my hand unless I got it) but so far I like it. I’m going to write them a letter, saying that I like it. Afrirampo were interesting, later in the set they really got into some nice stuff, but sometimes I felt like it was to gimicky. Lightning Bolt were super, they played a short set (like usual) but really really loud great music. Florence and Allen left before it was done, but that’s ok.
I went to the doctor’s today, they officially diagnosed my heart condition and I schedule an operation for the 5th of August, the last day of RISE, and the day before Yearly. Aparently I have to be awake for part of it so I can trigger the rapid beating, but while I’m awake they’ll have all sorts of catheters up through my veins in my heart, all squiggling around. I’m not sure how I feel about that, I’ll probably be pretty out of it on drugs.
I’m going to see Lucy from England on Saturday. I’m really really excited, she’s really cool, we’re going to do some museams in New York (MOMA mainly), and if she feels up for it, Invited her back to little rhodey to get a feel for coastal New England.
I bought some art supplies the other day, and today I taught nothing but art at camp. It was a great change from my normal duties. I should really do some drawing etc… every night. On top of that, recently I’ve been doing more Akkadian work, to keep on my toes for the summer, so Prof. George doesn’t spring a big suprise on me when I get back to London.
Speaking of London, I think Peter has found a place to stay, I told him to go for it, but I haven’t heard back from hime. I really hope we do get a place soon, so I can go back and have a place to stay. Unfortunatly Sarah’s place for next year fell through due to stupid real-estate agents going bankrupt and being stupid.
I tried ignoring Liz this week, but she just ignored right back, so that didn’t work. I think I’ll just leave for London.
Hmm, I’m excited for this weekend, and the weather is way to hot. I like that our family doesn’t use air conditioners but it also makes our house pretty sweltering on days like today. Well that about wraps it up.

Mike came over and helped me shave circles and dye them black, then I dyed it all red later. I’m pretty happy with it.

My dad and I went to India in warren, and I brought my fiddle and played with the Whole Bellies. The Whole Bellies are basically Chris and Rachel and whoever wants to play. We put on a good show, lots of people were dancing, we did a little tour through the audience and generally caused a huge ruccus. The concert was to raise money for the director of AS220 who needs some medical care and has no insurance.

I went out with mike tonight and helped him, bill, and jeff film a movie project they’re working on. Then afterwards mike and I went to Ben and Jerry’s and saw Anna who happened to be working there tonight, so she took our orders and then went on a break so we could all hang out for a bit. It was really nice, I wish I spent more time with Anna she’s cool.
Earlier today I went up to Liz’s and we watched a dutch movie my dad recomended called “The 4th Man” it was pretty good, a bit strange at times, but it was nice to hear the dutch. I don’t really know what’s going between Liz and me, and I don’t have much more patience to find out.

So by now you’ve heard about the bombs in London, if not here’s a great article at wikipedia. Looking through photos from the blasts I recognized my bank in them, this took place right outside my bank, I would go in and out through those doors in the background.
It’s sad. All the world leaders offered sympathy except for bush who said something to the effect of “we’ll hunt down those terrorists”, not what I want to hear.

I borrowed a really nice camera off one of my mom’s coworkers, it’s a Canon 20D digital SLR. It shoots in raw mode too, which I’m trying to get the hang of in linux.
Other then that life’s just plodding along. I want to make some soap soon, and maybe I’ll bake bread with liz soon.
Oh I’m trying to schedule a heart operation, that’s pretty fun.
