DearHearts

June 30, 2005 at 10:28 pm (life)

After dinner tonight, we drove down to Iggy’s but for some reason they were no longer serving dough boys (what’s up with that?). So we went to DearHearts instead and got some ice cream.

I started camp on Monday, it’s good. I do very little work, but I’m having great fun with the kids.

I went to the cardiologist today he said I should get my heart operated on, I’m game sounds like an adventure!

I went out with Allen, Patrick, and Jessi last night, it was fun.

Citizen Kane

June 24, 2005 at 11:52 pm (life)

I like this image a lot. I really like the expressions on the boy and the girl’s faces.

I watched Citizen Kane tonight with my mum, it was really cool. I’ll have to see it again when I’m more awake.

I decided I’m going to shut off my computer for a bit, I’m tired of reading the same websites over and over. I think I’ll read more books, play more music, and get out in the fresh air.

Sometimes I wish that I didn’t get so emotionally caught up in things, and sometimes I relish in it. Love for me, is the best feeling in the world when it’s possitive, and when it’s negative I just can’t get it out of my head, and it drags me down. But for some reason I crave that affection always.

I’ll call you tomorrow Jo.

Turning Turning

June 22, 2005 at 6:42 pm (life)

I did some yard work today. I had to fix a wheelbarrow too. It feels good to be home, but it seems like I’m heading back to England really soon, and that’s also really good.

This is my cd ripping machine, it rips cds, I control it from my room via ssh, it gives me ogg tracks via thttpd. All I have to do is put cds in it. I’d like to make it so I can just press a button on the outside of it and have it start ripping, but I’m not there yet. It lives in the basement.

Clearwater sans photos

June 20, 2005 at 11:49 pm (life)

I just got back from voluntering at the Clearwater Hudson River Revival folk festival in New York. It was great fun as it always is. I didn’t take any pictures for some reason, so here’s a picture of our house with its new colour scheme.

Old Ultimate Skyline

This is a cool thing. It’s a paper boxy thing that my flat mate left out side her door. I like it, maybe I’ll try to learn to make them.

I went to see Sin City today, it was really really cool.

I’m really stressed about getting a house all sorted for next year.

Oh yeah I’ve also started getting comment spam. Nasty.

The Future!

June 12, 2005 at 4:12 pm (life)

I’m sitting in a pub with Lucia trying out Islington’s StreetNet. Free wireless access all along Islington Upper Street. It’s great!

In my opinion this is exactly what needs to be happening. The wireless network brought me to that pub and I enjoyed it, I’ll probably be back. Ironically one of these Wireless APs was directly across from a Starbucks offering pay for wireless access through T-mobile. The only problem I saw with it was it’s flitering, I couldn’t get to flickr.com (Nudity) and boinka.com (Mature Content) which is rather bogus in my opinion.

The Isle of Lewis

June 9, 2005 at 9:56 pm (life)

Scotland was amazing. The trip up to the Island and back each took around twenty hours of bussing and ferrying but the days spent biking were well worth it.

That’s pretty much all there is to say about it. You can see all my photos from the trip here.

Scotland

June 3, 2005 at 10:27 pm (life)

Well I finished my last exam, I think I at least passed. It was really really hard but I did everything I could on it, and I think I demonstrated that I had a firm grasp of Akkadian. I also shaved off that mohawk, when I get back I’ll shaved spots back into it. I’m leaving for Scotland in an hour. It’s a thirteen hour bus ride to Inverness, then a short bus trip to Ullapool and a three hour ferry crossing to Stornoway.

I called up the bike rental on Stornoway today, the guy who answered had a really thick scottish accent. I asked him if it was possible for me to pick up a bike after they’ve closed (my ferry gets in at eight they close at six) he said “yeah I’ll be around you can just come pick it up”, what I changed from London.

Well for the next week I’ll just be futzing around on the Isle of Lewis. I’m going to bike here and there, sit on beaches, relax, inhale the salty north sea air.

She’s a SuperFreak

June 2, 2005 at 11:09 pm (life)

Time: 19:22 Place: Liverpool Street Station Grand Concourse What: A whole lot of ass shaking. Yeah that’s right we got it down in the train station for two whole hours! My music of choice was the super groovetastic collection of funk hits titled “Pure Funk”. Seriously a lot of fun. What a perfect way to destress for an exam tomorrow, and get a good nights sleep. Jon Chris and I were there from the begining with the hundreds of others, people were trickeling away, until, an hour in there were fifty core boogy knights, we stayed like that for another whole hour then had a countdown to the two hour mark and all split and went our fantastic ways. The police and train security were bemused, and the commuters loved it.

I put the rest of my photos up on flickr but they don’t nearly do it justice.

Oh yeah Jo and Chris shaved a mohawk into my head before the mobile clubbing event, it looks kinda cool, but it’s more of a step towards another spotty cut thing.

Oh no

June 2, 2005 at 2:31 pm (life)

I cooked a sheperd’s pie for Sarah and Jo last night. It was quite good, this time I made a lot of potatoes so they covered the whole top, oh and I cooked some biscuits too to go with the pie. Here’s a picture of Sarah and Jo presenting the dinner.

I’m currently freaking out because my exam tomorrow is really hard, and I don’t feel prepared. I’d feel so perfectly fine if I could bring a dictionary. No problem I’d ace the test, but I can’t and I don’t feel ready.
