I realized I’ve never actually put a picture of my tatoo up. Well there it is. I really like it.
I went out with Sarah tonight to see Mysterious Skin at the Screen on the green. It was a really good movie. Very very tough to watch, some pretty awful parts, but in the end it was so humane. I’m still very much in shock. I think it will take a couple days to really understand the whole thing.
I’m not sure if it was the movie, or if it’s the music right now, but I feel really at peace.

I found audioscrobbler via Tom Hinkle’s journal. Luckily enough they have a rhythmbox plug in, and double lucky I just put all my music back onto my computer. If you click on the picture above you’ll get a annotated look at my desk and handy shelf of stuff. Oh yeah here’s my audioscrobbler page.
Hah I figured out how to add my audioscrobbler feed to my webpage, as can be seen over on the right. Just a simple wordpress plugin did it. By the way for people that read this on livejournal, you have to goto to my webpage to see all the cool things that I’m talking about, photo feed, music feed etc… (that might be it).

I made pasta with mushroom sauce again, but this time I added goats milk to the sauce and a new spice, marjoram, it turned out really well.
Recently I’ve been pretty busy just starting to attack my Akkadian revision. Life’s pretty humdrum right now. Oh yeah if you check out that little bunch of photos at the top those are the most recent additions to my Flickr account most of them right now are from my phone. It’s so cool to be just walking along and take a picture and then send it to my website right there without a computer, instantly.

That’s the view outside today and almost everyday.
Zak and Michelle were over for the weekend. They left early Monday morning to catch a plane to Norway to do some camping, they’ll be back in a week. We had fun, a quick one day lightning tour of London. You can read his side of the story here.
He left his Nintendo DS and his laptop among other things for me to watch over, and I’ve decided I mayswell give Super Mario World a shot, having never beaten it as a kid. But the truth is I am supremely awful at video games. Often times I die because I forgot to jump over a pit, or I just ran straight into a monster etc… (no joke i died five times running into the same monster at the begining of one level) then I usually get annoyed and just turn it off and get back to more important things like studying.
I was playing around with my phone this morning, and I found out how to upload pictures to flickr from my phone. Here is my desk. That is so amazing, now I can be anywhere and just being snapping pictures with the phone and uploading them to the web as I walk. The future is here.

Although not outwardly appealing this was a nice bowl of pasta. I cooked mushrooms and tofu with it and it all came together nicely.
This morning I had my second and second to last exam, unfortunatly the trash truck woke me up two hours before I had planned to arise from my good nights sleep. I think I still managed Ok, three hours writing four essays in a cramped desk watched by stern proctors is tough.
Tonight Karl, Akane and I went out to see Star Wars. It was pretty good, better then the last two, but god the acting on Anakin and Padme is awful. I have to give credit to this movie for its action, those scenes are amazing, but any dialog escaping from Anakin’s or Padme’s lips is cringe worthy.
Tomorrow Zak arrives in London for a short stay in this little town before he’s off for Norway. Oh yeah and Breezy is horribly broken right now, I think I might take my computer down and try to bring it back up hoping that will load some of the crazy new stuff the ubuntu devs have been working on. There is however a very likely (most likely) possibilty that things just won’t work. Oh well chances are chances.
[Later] Yeah so breezy is badly broken oh well. Oh and I forgot to mention, I tried to goto the Caravaggio exhibition at the National Gallery yesterday, but unfortunatly it’s sold out for a while. So instead I just took some time and looked at the permenant collection. I realized I really like Venetian city-scapes espiecally by Guardi and Canaletto.

I was looking forward to this dinner since last night. I made this little recipe up a while ago, bread with melted camembert on it, under a salad covered in olive oil and a little salt.

My dinner entertainment was the Senate floor and their debate on filibusters. I urge you today to call your senator and tell them to oppose changing the rules to ban filibusters on judiciary nominees. I did, and they were thankful for the long distance call.

Tonight it was: a lettuce and baby spinach salad, mash potatoes with skins and cheddar cheese, organic red kidney beans and tofu with challots spiced with thyme and red pepper. It was really quite nice. The beans had a very nice flavor. I know it doesn’t look incredibly appetizing from the photo, but it was.

I’ve been dabbling in stencil artwork recently. I go out late at night wait for the street to empty and do a couple stencils. The white sheep on the signs looks pretty crap because I did a black one there before and you have to climb the pole and hold the stencil with the same hand you’re holding on to the pole with. Needless to say you don’t get great results. I’m really happy with the sun one though. I think next I’ll make a recycling logo stencil.

Here’s my dinner once again, this time it’s: Penne pasta with boiled vegetables, covered in baby spinach sauteed in english cheddar cheese. It’s quite good, the grease from the cheese gets some of the flavor of the spinach and runs over everything. Esther is on her way over to give it a taste.
I figured I write enough about my cooking habits to make a seperate feed for them so without further ado here it is: the food category.

I made myself a pot of onion soup and a loaf of bread tonight. They go together really well, nice hearty meal.
I also shaved yesterday, I look pretty young.

No picture again, my camera has been pretty idle recently. Last night Chris, Christina and I went to see two of Christina’s friends’ bands. It was a typical friend of a friend gig at a venue just further then you normally go to. It was actually really cool, both bands were really good, I got both their demos and helped them pack their van up afterwards.
Tonight Karl, Peter, Chris, Sarah and I watched Indiana Jones, and then played cards and had tea.

Unfortunatly the two cool things I did yesterday didn’t permit cameras on the premises.
First I had my first exam of the year. It was crazy, 500 students in this weird library theater room out in western London. All the teachers were pacing around and staring at us from the stage, it was kinda scary. The exam in the end wen’t pretty well.
Secondly I went to a taping of “Friday nights with Jonathon Ross”, and the special guests were David HasselHoff, and Kelly Osbourne. WOW. That was pretty cool I guess, I was pretty bored during some of the interviews. The warm up guy for the audience picked on me cause I was american, actually he wanted me to show the audience what an american talk show applause was like, cause the british are so reserved. But I told him squarely that I wasn’t a “tv-man” and I didn’t really know what he was talking about.
